Our Lakes
Paul Gieleghem understands we need to protect our Lake St. Clair and our Great Lakes. That is why he has:
- Voted to establish the real-time water monitoring system that protects our drinking water
- Passed a resolution urging Congress to approve full funding for barriers designed to protect the Great Lakes from Asian carp
- Successfully fought to protect our groundwater by stopping the proposed expansion of Pine Trees Acres for Canadian trash
As State Senator, Paul Gieleghem will:
- Work to pass a constitutional ban on drilling in the Great Lakes
- Work to keep out new invasive marine species by supporting control programs
- Sponsor and work to create strict “Polluter Pay” laws
