I’m lucky and proud to have two healthy grandmothers that are still able to live on their own. These strong women raised my parents and helped raise me; they made me the man that I am today. My grandmothers experienced World War II and the Great Depression; they have always provided me with sage advice on how to handle the tough challenges ahead. As a community we must respect the wisdom of experience.I’m lucky and proud to have two healthy grandmothers that are still able to live on their own. These strong women raised my parents and helped raise me; they made me the man that I am today. My grandmothers experienced World War II and the Great Depression; they have always provided me with sage advice on how to handle the tough challenges ahead. As a community we must respect the wisdom of experience. My commitment is to ensure that the senior members of our community have access to services that keeps each senior as independent and in their homes as long as possible. I know some seniors need more of a helping hand than others. That is why we protected services like Meals on Wheels and Chore Service. I understand the importance of protecting our senior generation and have taught my children to respect our seniors who have given us so much. That is why I will treat each senior as if they were a member of my family and not forget their part in our community.
As State Senator, Paul Gieleghem will:
- Fight to strengthen Medicare and Social Security
- Expand preventative health care programs for seniors.
- Encourage respect for our seniors and what they have done for us.
- Fight for stiff penalties against those who take advantage of seniors.
