This year, the Township is once again partnering with Tuta’s Kidz Kloset for their annual backpack drive, which will take place on August 23rd at the Township Housing Commission Community Center.

The event will feature food, games, free haircuts for boys, hair care supplies for girls, and new socks and shoes while supplies last. Last year, we were proud to distribute 760 backpacks, each filled with donated school supplies for students.
We Need Your Help!
I’m hopeful that we can come together as a community again to support Tuta’s Kidz Kloset and help as many students as possible. In the main hallway of the Civic Center, you will find boxes labeled for different school supply items. While all supplies are needed, Tonya (the head of Tuta’s Kidz Kloset) shared that the greatest need this year is packets of wide-lined, loose-leaf paper.

You can participate in several ways:
- If you enjoy shopping, you can take advantage of local back-to-school sales, and drop supplies off at the Township’s Civic Center!
- You can purchase items that Tuta’s Kidz Kloset needs by using this Amazon link. These items will be shipped directly to the head of Tuta’s Kidz Kloset, Tonya!
- Monetary donations are also welcome. Checks can be made to Tuta’s Kidz Kloset and may be mailed to my home/campaign address: 37905 E Horseshoe, Clinton Township, MI 48036
As a public official, it doesn’t just matter what I do at the Board Table. It’s also about what we do to help our community grow and improve. We know that not every student has the support network they need to fully focus on learning. Together, we can help more students in Clinton Township feel supported, confident, and ready to learn—knowing they have more than just supplies and backpack at their back, but also the encouragement of their community.
Thank you for all of the support you provide me. Together, we can make a difference for the students who will shape our community’s future.
